(Price inclusive of GST) "A collectible figurine of a Malay ""Satay"" seller, cooking food with his portable charcoal grill, fan and satay. The satay customer is an accompanying piece and displays beautifully together (sold separately) ""Satay"" is a Bahasa Indonesian word that refers to a dish made of meat skewered on thin sticks, grilled and eaten with a peanut sauce dip – similar to kebabs. The Satay seller was a street hawker who was a familiar sight in Singapore up to the late 1970s, but later vanished – together with all other street hawkers of the time as roadside stalls eventually gave way to more sanitary and organised eating establishments." The figurines are made of a metal alloy to give a solid weight and feel. They are hand-painted with special care taken to ensure accuracy to actual colours. Approx.
